Homemade Spicy Rava Vermicelli Recipe


I had long posted Recipe of Home Made Rice vermicelli, now its Rava vermicelli. The procedure is almost similar with the difference in the proportion of ingredients.  Also this is much easier than the Rice one.





Ingredients:
One cup of rava
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves(optional)
Turmeric powder
Jaggery
Coconut grates
Lemon juice
Sesame seeds, urad dal for seasoning
cooking oil
Salt for taste

Procedure:
Take a deep pan , add one cup of rava , one cup water and salt. Heat in low flame and stir continuously till forms a mould. 
Remember the rava and water should be of equal ratio.

Now make small balls of rava mould and pressure cook for 15minutes without using a whistle.


Take a vermicelli press stand and press these cooked rava balls. We usually use a clean cloth to receive the pressed up vermicelli, You can even use a clean plate. 


Now in a deep pan add cooking oil and heat in low flame. Add sesame seeds, urad dal , ground nuts(optional) and curry leaves.

In a mixer jar add grated coconuts, red chillies and 3 to 4 spoons of jaggery and grind them dry. Once the sesame pops add turmeric powder and the grinded masala.


Switch of the flame immediately because the jaggery gets hardened if heated more.

To this pan add rava vermicelli and squeeze a lemon. Stir them well so that all the ingredients get mixed. You can even Garnish with coriander leaves.


Home Made Spicy Rava vermicelli is ready.

Like the Rice vermicelli , eating Rava vermicelli along with pickles and coconut oil is not much tasty.  Seasoning along with the masala tastes great.
The recipe takes a quiet of time since the procedure is long, best is to serve as a breakfast during weekends.
