Beaten Rice Roti Recipe


Rice Roti, Ragi Roti , Rava Roti all these are common breakfasts in South India. But have you heard of Beaten Rice(Poha) Roti?
The Roti cooked from Beaten rice comes to be so soft like a Bread and appears to be a perfect Veg Pizza J.  Coconut chutney is a right combination for it. Read on for the easy Recipe below.


Beaten Rice Roti



Ingredients:
One Cup Beaten Rice (Thick beaten rice)
One cup Rice flour
Grated carrots
Grated coconuts
Coriander leaves
Curry leaves
Asafoetida
Ginger
Green chillies
salt for taste

Procedure:
Take a mixer jar and grind one cup beaten rice without adding water. Grind till it forms a fine powder.

Now wash the beaten rice powder once to remove all the dirt from it. Keep it aside for about 20 minutes, the powdered beaten rice almost forms a smooth paste since it is wet.

Now add one cup rice flour and 2 cups of water to it. Mix all together to form dosa consistency. Let it be thicker to dosa batter.

Now add grated carrots, grated coconuts, coriander leaves curry leaves , Asafoetida, ginger peices, green chillies and salt to taste. Leave the batter for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile prepare the easy coconut chutney.
Grind grated coconuts, ginger, green chillies , tamarind , Asafoetida and salt along with water. Use sesame and urad dal for seasoning.

Heat the pan in low flame. Once the pan is hot spread a handful of batter to the pan using fingers. Try spreading the batter to very thin so that the roti comes to be crispy. Add a spoon full ghee, turn upside down when it changes to golden brown.

Serve Crispy Beaten Rice Roti along with coconut chutney. 

Beaten rice or poha is usually taken as an evening snack. But its roti serves you a heavy tasty breakfast.
