Dressing your child for fancy dress is a great job for mothers which requires days of planning and creativity. After all your craft work is ready it depends on your child’s mood whether he/she is willing to wear the costume on the day. Usually children wear it for just few minutes or tear them off, all your work drowned :).

Even though the work requires patience and lot of work you should be lucky enough to have ample time for your child and enjoy the happy time. Here is how you can dress a 3 year old preschooler as a tree.

All you require is:

Green (light and dark) card board sheets
6 binder clips, glue, scissors, rope or thread.
Green Thick card board sheet or 2 sticks

Procedure:

To make branches :

1) Draw three clouds in dark green card board sheet, one for head and two other for hands. Let the cloud drawn for head be bigger than those for hands.

2) Cut the three cloud shapes using scissors.

3) Draw two little birds on light green sheet and cut them.

For head:

On the bigger cloud cutting stick the two paper birds. Now make a chef cap with
light green cardboard sheet of the kid’s head size by gluing or pinning. To this cap stick the bigger cloud cutting at the center facing front.

It looks as though two little birds sitting on the tree branch. Similar way you can draw flowers and fruits and stick above.

For hands:

Either cut thick card board sheet in the form of sticks or you can take two sticks and wrap green colour paper to them. Glue them to the smaller clouds. This makes your child easy to hold within fists.

To make the trunk part of tree:

This is very simple. Wrap your child’s body with the brown card board sheet and clip four binder clips (2 at the front and 2 at the back). Just pass an black rope/thread over these clips and tie a knot at the back. Clip two clips at the bottom near legs to stay fit.

The overall fashion looks like dungarees dress.

All your craft work is done. Now dress your child with brown pants and green shirt. Wear the cap and two branches in hands.” Tree” fancy dress is ready.
