Jack Fruit Jam Recipe, a home made fruit jam
Fruit jams are always in stock where ever there are fuzzy
eating kids. There are several ways of making jams. When you opt for homemade
jams the benefit is that they would not contain preservatives and any
additives.
Here thought it would be a great idea to share with you all another
jack fruit recipe. Obviously it is fruit dish, Jack Fruit Jam. :-).
- Jack fruit pieces
- Jaggery (half the quantity of jack fruit, increase if needed later).
- Pepper powder
- Cardamom powder
Recipe:
- In a wide thick pan, add jaggery and allow it to thin down over a low flame.
- Keep stirring till the jaggery liquefies completely, else there is every chance of it being burnt.
- Once the jaggery becomes thin, add all the chopped jack fruit pieces. Keep the flame low throughout.
- Let the jack fruit pieces cook along with the jaggery syrup for some time. Keep stirring in intervals.
- Eventually, when the whole thing becomes sticky, add some cardamom powder and pepper powder. Stir well and allow over low flame for some more time.
- The jack fruit jam will be done when the entire process has reached a very sticky consistency of jaggery syrup.
Serve with hot Chapathis. This can
replace your ready made fruit mix jams from the market very easily.
Jack fruit jam can be stored in refrigerator for later use
too. It will not get spoil due to the sticky syrup of jaggery.
Isn’t this a good idea to keep your children interested in eating
their daily Indian breads?
