How to Make a Flower Using Newspaper - Handmade Greeting Card for Deepavali
There was a time when we wished our friends, cousins, relatives in the family via posting greeting cards. INDIA POST would deliver our greetings cards to any address we mentioned along with the postal stamp.
Gone are the days. Today, kids hardly know that there exist something called as postal stamp.
To keep the tradition of greeting cards alive, we at home started making our own handmade greeting cards every year during Deepavali.
All we need is a piece of
- stiff chart sheet,
- a newspaper,
- color paint (in red and gold) of your choice,
- shiny golden strips
- and supplied such as scissors, stapler, crayons, pens, etc.
How to make a flower using newspaper pieces?
Make several circles on the newspaper using an adult sized bangle. Each circle will turn out to be one layer of petal in the flower.
Bigger the circle, more layers of petals you will need. So, choose the size of your circle and the number of petals you might need to fill up in the flower.
Paint all the circles in bright red. You will need about 15 (approximate number). Cut them all carefully.
Stack up all the circles one over the other.
Staple at the center.
Now, crumple the first sheet in the stack. Carefully lift the second sheet and crumple and bring it closer to the first crumpled sheet.
Follow the same with every single paper that you have pinned in the stack.
Dab some gold paint in between the layers to make the flower jazzy and fancy.
Once the paint has dried, stick the handmade flower on a small piece of chart sheet or a card.
This is where you will write your Diwali Wishes or Diwali Quotes for your dear ones.
We used a stiff sheet that came along as a package material. So, we decided to flip over the sheet and paint wide strips using random colors.
Finish off the edges with shiny golden glue strips/tape.
Tada !!! Handmade Greeting Card for this seasons Deepavali is ready for gifting.
It is quick, simple, easy and perfect to make during this last minute rush.
Handmade items bring lots of joy, pride, personal touch and emotional values.
Why not try the same....?
