How to Clean Silver Ornaments?
Silver is a beautiful metal which can impressively be turned into jewelry, household materials, kitchen set and worship items. But the metal gets tarnished soon which makes them look dull. It does not make sense to rush to a silversmith for polishing each time you welcome a festival/occasion. The combo of aluminum foil paper and baking soda is the best solution for cleaning silver items.
How to clean Silver materials?
Materials Required:
Silver ornaments
Foil paper
Baking soda
Steel utensil
Water
• Take a clean utensil and pour water till half the level.
• Crush a foil paper of size nearing about an A4 size sheet.
• Drop the crushed foil paper into water filled vessel and add a spoonful of baking soda.
• Boil them together till boiling point.
• Once the solution is warm, drop the silver ornaments into it. Let the ornaments be dipped for 4 to 5 minutes. If the ornaments are too dusty then let them stay for a longer time (maybe 10 minutes) in the solution.
• Use a soft brush and scrub them smoothly to remove dust for the edges.
• Watch the silver ornaments with the brand-new look. Wash them with running tap water and pat dry.
Note:
Do not drop the ornaments when it is boiling hot. It might slightly dissolve the metal.
Do not scratch the silver materials with a hard brush.
