How to use Fevicryl Liquid Embroidery on Fabrics| Redesigning Old Black Blouse with Liquid Embroidery
Liquid
Embroidery is a unique way of making any fabric material look colourful and
jazzy.
Fevicryl’s
Liquid Embroidery comes in a small squeezable bottle which has a long needle
like nozzle opening. When the body of the bottle is pressed, the colourful liquid
medium oozes out of the nozzle in a thread-like size.
With some
control over bottle pressing, squeezing and stopping, beautiful designs can be
created on the fabric.
Here, we
show how a simple black saree blouse is converted to amazing multicolour designer
blouse. The design made using the liquid tube/bottle dries in about half an
hour and looks stunning when dried.
There are
colors with solid finish and also pearl finish which brings a unique look
overall.
Step 1 – Fix
the blouse to a cardboard and make sure the area where you plan to design does
not move around.
Step 2 –
Mark a 2 inch gap along the border of back. The design drawn should not exceed this
gap. This ensures that there is uniformity and symmetry in the entire design.
Step 3 – At
an interval of few inches, draw a flower using fevicryl liquid embroidery in
yellow color.
Step 4 – Fill
in the gap between flowers with creepers, leaves and tendrils. You may also use
certain filling designs to cover up the gaps if any.
Tips you
should know
- Before proceeding with more decorative designs, allow the ones that have been created to dry.
- Make designs in separate batches so that you don’t the ruin the patterns/designs that have not been dried.
Step 5 -
Also continue the same design at the neck and sleeves.
Step 6 – Get
more creative with a beautiful floral bunch and a peacock resting on the same.
Step 7 –
Stick crystal stones using fabric glue to enhance the overall look. The sparkly
stones bring more attraction to the blouse.
Step 8 –
After allowing 3 days to dry completely, iron at the back side of the cloth.
This type of
embroidery work on the saree blouse is unique and looks fab when worn with
simple sarees.
Using liquid embroidery is also a great way to replace the elaborate
thread embroidery designs.
