Mysuru has geared up for the grand celebration of Dasara festival
With just
last couple of days left for the onset of the grand festival of Navratri, the
entire land of Bharat is gearing up like never before.
There are
few places in India where the festival of Dasara holds great historic and
mythological reverence. Mysore is a world famous name for the pomp and energy
with which Dasara – Nada Habba is celebrated.
Mysuru,
as it is locally called in Kannada is an iconic name when it comes to Dasara in
Karnataka.
This year,
2019, the city has already geared up for the festival. The preparations have
been happening for the past few months and are still taking few last minute
attentions at this hour.
The
elephants have been under the parade training for several days now. To witness
the practise walking of the Jumbo Sawari event is a sight to behold.
Get up early
in the morning and reach the path along where the long line of all the parading
elephant walk one after the other on the roads with their mahuts (caretaker)
The roads
have been in perfect form.
The public walls have been painted with traditional
art and designs that represent out state and culture.
The street lightings
have begun to switch on. And the entire city has been decked as a new bride.
This year,
Mysuru’s first ever fly-over has been decked with grand lighting décor. It is
glittering!
It is high
time you decide about visiting Mysore during Dasara. It is Dasara vacation
after all, and vacations are for holidaying at popular destinations.
The entire city
transforms into a big fun fair during these 10 days. This year,
Dasara festival spans from 29Sep2019 to 08Oct2019.
