Nursing your new born is very important for the infant’s growth
curve. During post delivery, it is a common worry for every mother on how to
increase lactation. We all know that the best way to increase milk supply is by
nursing your young one. Apart from this, following an healthy food chart that
promotes milk production is also advisable.
Tips for Healthy Nursing your child
• Sucking of breasts by the infants is the first step for milk production. At early stages even when you do not have enough milk supply, allow your new born to suck. This stimulates breast nerves improving milk production.
• Awake and lactate your child for every two hours. This keeps your child healthy and filled, also empties milk filled breasts which starts the production process repeatedly.
• Worry and tension about milk feeding decreases and delays milk production.
Food that increase Milk supply
Water:
You may be surprised how water assists in increase of
lactation, but hydrating yourself is very important for the milk production. As
milk is a liquid food, more of water intake improves breast milk. That too
during early stages of feeding, you need to gulp a bottle full of water after
every feeding. Also breast feeding makes you thirsty.
Cow’s Milk:
Include a minimum of 3 glasses of Cow’s milk which is rich
in calcium in your diet.
Yogurt:
Include rich creamy yogurt in your meals.
Milk Porridge:
Any milk porridge, usually prepared in rich milk increases milk supply.

Fenugreek seeds promote milk supply. Prepare fenugreek salad
by grinding them with grated coconut and mix them with yogurt. Add a pinch of
salt for taste.
